One Word!

The theme this week at LIM is to use just one word. My choice is BABY. I have used the free gift from The clipart fairy Which is the gorgeous gingham alphabet and numbers. The lovely digi image is from the Digi Doodle Shop and can be found HERE finished off with just with three small pearls in the corner.

Music!!

Just a quickie this week as you can imagine.... Busy busy busy preparing for Christmas which is only days away. But just can't NOT devote 10 mins to our LIM challenge
Aperture cut out with cuttlebug bauble and sheet music placed behind it. Easy to do........I just might do a few more like this for next year.

Just when I thought I could concentrate on Christmas

In came some last minute orders. I managed to do four yesterday and another this morning. Now off to do some shopping.... the fridge and the freezer are nigh on empty!!

Sunday 11 December 2011

And I thought I had finished all my Christmas Cards!

Oh well I have an early start for next year........
Chrissie and Mandi's fault over at LIM. They have set this week's challenge as "Let it Snow"

I decided I would make a tree from a snowflake font called WWFlakes... there are loads of flakes on this download a different one for each of the letters of the alphabet PLUS a different one for each lower case.

I thought I would graduate the size of the flakes to give it a bit more dimension and add a pearl here and there. The sentiment is also computer generated.

I have added this as a freebie if anyone would like it, but please don't share it...... If you know someone who would like it please direct them to my blog.

Week 44 at Lim is Colour Green

Doesn't time fly.........week 44 already at LIM. The theme this week is Colour and Mandi and Chrissie have chosen the colour green....................I must admit it is my favourite colour. I have chosen to do a scroll backgound with a hanging heart, which almost looks like a bauble. I printed this one out twice and covered it with glossy accents to give it a gloss, and hung it on some green ribbon.

A few orders and one for a little boy whose birthday is Dec 25th

Th first four are orders, two for Harley and two for Stacey. The lady that ordered these has had about 20 made in the last couple of months......I am running out of ideas!!

The last one is for Lenny, who was born on Christmas day three years ago....He was born 4 months before his due date, and has Cerebral Palsy...... not too bad....But he isn't quite walking on his own yet. We often see him holding his mummy's hand and walking around the Cul-de-Sac opposite us, but he just hasn't got the confidence to go it alone yet.

A bit of BLING!

I decided to steer away from Christmas cards this week and do a fun card instead. The theme at LIM is "A bit of bling"
The image is from the clipart fairy.

I found time for one more

This was a digital stamp I had, that I made into a silhouette. A bit tedious but worth every minute! Inspiration for this one came from Viv....thanks Viv. I think it makes an unusual wedding card!
This is my third entry into this week's LIM challenge....which is Silhouettes

2nd Card for LIM challenge

Had to do this while I had it in my head, it's the 2nd card for this week's challenge at LIM. The recipe this week is silhouettes. I quite like the sentiments cards, they don't really need anything else on them

Sunday 20 November 2011

This week has been manic

What with organising MIL funeral etc. There was the music to sort and the order of service to be done. But I have found the time this morning to do my LIM card for this week. I hope it qualifies as a silhouette card, which is this week recipe. All done with fonts again, with a little glamour dust on the snow covered letters.
I thought you might like to see the front of the order of service I designed too. She loved her orchids and they thrived when she was alive and when she died so did her orchids.....strange!!

Thank you all for your condolences last week, and for all your congratulations on my winning the October prize. It surely was a week of mixed emotions!

It's been a sad week this week

We lost my hubby's mother on Thursday. She was 92 and about 8 weeks ago she was diagnosed with cancer in the oesophagus. Poor thing suffered for eight weeks before giving up her fight for life. At least she is free from pain now, and we have our wonderful memories.
Now to my card, I think her death influenced me to make a thinking of you card this week for the LIM challenge. I had just the image, lovely and soft colours but with the leaves that is this week's challenge.

Red and Orange mark 3

This is the third card for The Less Is More challenge this week.

Which if you hadn't guessed it is RED and ORANGE

Not colours I would normally use together, but the more I see the more I like.
As you know I am not into stamping, but I like to play with the computer and see what I can come up with. I have a program called Greetings Card Factory and it's amazing what you can do with that.

I started by making an oblong of background using the reds and oranges and blended into a radial  shape, when I was happy with the background I added  a digital image of the birds on top.

Red and Orange mark 2

The second card I've made for the Less is More challenge this week. Which is red and orange. I think I prefer this card, as the colours are stronger than the first one. Again done with the same font and the sentiment also computer generated.(yippy skippy)

Red and Orange

Yes that is the colours for this week's challenge on Less is More
Because it is also bonfire night here in UK they thought red and orange symbolised the colours of flames.

The card I've made reminds me of the Orient. The medallion is actually made up from a font I found and I've been meaning to have a play with for quite a while. The sentiment is also computer generated.

Seeing Stars

Yes that is the theme of this weeks LIM challenge
  "STARS"
I was quite pleased with the result this week, so I took it outside to photograph it on the patio table in the daylight...........when a gust of wind blew it over onto it's front!!
Hence there are a couple of marks on it (one right by the sentiment) But do you know you can hardly see them with the naked eye.........the camera has picked up and magnified every mark!!

I'll have to see whether I can rub them off with the eraser.

Sunday 23 October 2011

Polkadots mark 2

Inspired from a card we had for our anniversary. 2nd LIM card for this week, which is polkadots.

I've spent the morning (In between cooking lunch) Creating this sentiment Christmas tree. I had seen it done somewhere and thought I'd have a go for the LIM challenge this week.
The theme this week is polka dots, and to fit with the theme I've added them to look like baubles.
I have also added the actual sentiment as a png image if anyone would like it. Just open it up to it's full size and save.
Created in Craftbook Artist.

Retirement card for lady who loves cats

Decoupaged Easel card for a lady who loves cats. I used a verse from Greetings card factory and noticed after I had made it "favourite" is spelt the american way "favorite" I hope it goes unnoticed as I don't really want to make it all over again!!

Cocktails

Another week and another challenge at Less is More the theme for which is
COCKTAIL
You may interpret this however you wish... your favourite tipple, the colours of a cocktail or a simply cocktail of colours. Let your imagination run with this one, it will be interesting to see how imaginative you can be.

Here is a little fun... you can follow the link HERE  to see what cocktail you are...
I am
3 parts success
2 parts warmth
1 part understanding

with a splash of seductiveness

The card I've made is from a digi set by The Clipart Fairy
and the sentiment sure goes with the image!
